Alice Schmidt and Céline Zahno are two podiatrists who graduated from the École Supérieure de Podologie de Genève. Here are a few lines to help you get to know them better...

In a nutshell... Our podiatry consultation is entirely dedicated to podiatry care and is located within the ORTHO-KERN SA orthopedic company in Lausanne. The facility is equipped and designed to provide quality care in a pleasant, hygienic environment.

Our collaboration with ORTHO-KERN SA enables us to use their infrastructure in a multidisciplinary setting. This gives us the opportunity to share our expertise with our bootmaker and orthopedic technician colleagues, and to offer comprehensive care when required.

But it's also a secretarial service for making appointments, state-of-the-art machines for producing small appliances and a reception desk to welcome you!

Alice Schmidt In 2012, I was lucky enough to take over this podiatry consultation within the Ortho-Kern premises. This multi-disciplinary and enriching environment encouraged me to perfect my skills in sports podiatry, while collaborating with the company for several years on orthopedic insoles. Today, I've returned to podiatry school as a teacher in the HUG clinic, to share and pass on my passion for this profession.

In addition to my profession as a podiatrist and teacher, I'm also passionate about illustration and comics. My time is therefore carefully divided between my consultation, the HUG and the Bellevaux workshops.

What does a podiatrist do? We are responsible for the health of our feet and the proper functioning of the musculoskeletal system. Here's what we do:

Podiatric care, formerly known as "pedicure", is a treatment in which we trim nails, remove horns, corns and calluses, ingrown toenails and so on. They are performed using sterile instruments.

Orthoplastics are custom-made silicone molds. We correct toe deformities, protect them from shoes, etc. In some cases, orthotics can be an alternative to surgery. They are reimbursed by many supplementary insurance companies, provided you have a prescription.

Orthonyxes correct nail curvature. They are highly effective in treating ingrown toenails and are painless. We use the shape memory provided by the titanium wire glued to the nail to straighten it.
